Abl Matefham · Podcast
A bilingual website for an Egyptian conversational podcast — قبل ما تفهم, "Before You Understand." Retro-Egyptian visual identity meets premium web craft.
Most Arabic podcasts live on Spotify and a stack of Instagram reels. Abl Matefham wanted something different — a destination. A site where episodes have context, hosts have personalities, and the show's aesthetic — playful, retro-Egyptian, slightly irreverent — gets the visual real estate it deserves.
SPA-style page system with smooth in-app transitions — no full reloads, no flash. Bilingual EN / AR with RTL flipping handled correctly across the whole layout. Episode archive with rich metadata, host attribution, and embedded play. Custom typographic system blending DM Serif Display, Playfair, Syne, and Lora — chosen to match the show's retro-on-modern aesthetic.
The show's logo is a vintage CRT television set — playful, distinctly Egyptian, immediately recognizable. The site palette extended that directly: burgundy reds, warm cream, an emerald accent for the show's interactive elements. The result reads as a confident Egyptian production, not a Western podcast template translated into Arabic.
Listeners now land on a site that earns the show's positioning — and episodes get the visual treatment they deserve. The bilingual experience lets the audience switch context naturally without losing place.
